Todd Whitthorne is a speaker on health and wellness.
Todd Whitthorne has been in the public eye for over 20 years. He is currently the president and chief executive officer of Cooper Concepts, Inc., a division of Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas. He also serves as chairman of the Our Kids’ Health Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to reducing childhood obesity and inactivity in Texas. Whitthorne is a member of both the American College of Sports Medicine and IAWHP (International Association for Worksite Health Promotion) and serves on the Board of Directors for the Dallas GET A MOVE ON campaign. For eight years Whitthorne served as a host and executive producer of Healthy Living with Dr. Ken Cooper, a nationally syndicated weekly radio program heard in 42 U. S. cities.
After graduating from UCLA with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology, Whitthorne began a broadcasting career that would take him to various stops from Washington D.C. to Phoenix and Dallas. He won both an Emmy and a Katie award as co-host of “Good Morning Texas” on WFAA-TV, the Dallas ABC affiliate. Since 2005 Whitthorne has also served as the television host for the Dallas White Rock Marathon and the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot.
An accomplished and frequent speaker to large and small corporate groups, schools and nonprofit organizations, Whitthorne is well versed in a variety of wellness topics. His presentations include: “Your Health, Your Responsibility;” “Healthy Living: The Links to Personal and Professional Success;” “The ABC’s of Nutritional Supplements;” “Fitness for Life;” “Building a Better Brain;” and “Corporate Wellness Pays Big Dividends.”
Whitthorne enjoys most outdoors activities and has run several marathons, half-marathons, and sprint triathlons. He resides in Coppell, Texas with his wife, Kathy. They have two children; 22-year-old Lauren, and education major at Texas A&M, and 19-year-old Andrew, a communications major at the University of Oklahoma.
